Merchant Suite

The Taverne Bar
The Taverne Bar is the ideal space for drinks before and after dining in the Merchant Suite. For more casual get togethers it has everything you need to dance the night away into the wee small hours. The features of the space include DJ Box, colour changing LED lighting and Grand piano, as well as all in house technology for any speeches.

We recently held our staff day at Citation and couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
The Events team were great to work with both on the lead up to and during the event. I was especially thankful for them accommodating last minute changes on the lead up to and on the day with no problem at all.
The team worked with us to ensure the layout worked our event format and even came up with some great suggestions, bringing their experience and knowledge of event management to the fore.
Our staff were very impressed with the venue and commented on how lovely and bright the room was. They even loved the extra touches like the room being split to allow catering to be served away from their desks and the use of the balcony, especially since we lucked out on such a beautiful, sunny day.
I can’t thank the staff enough and would definitely use the venue in the future.

Communication was always prompt, you took our ideas and put them into place.Citation was the ideal venue, it was elegantly decorated creating a warm atmosphere. The vast space is split over two floors allowing guests to move around, socialise and dance. The dancefloor was great entertainment for our live band.
We were able to host approx. 160 guests, and couldn’t have done a better job without the help of the team at Citation that night, they went above and beyond to ensure our guests were kept happy and everything was running smoothly.
The team were extremely friendly and easy to approach, particularly Gloria – she was a star!
Claire and the Citation team helped seamlessly plan an amazing event in record time amidst many changes and complexities that were presented and were professional, flexible and helpful at every step. Our event was incredibly high profile and demanded alot of specific tech and brand requirements but Claire always found us the right person to deliver on every ask.
On the night of the event, despite many changes, the team executed on every level and delivered a beautiful event and we are thankful for working with such a great team. Great food, atmosphere, service and location – all around winner!

The feedback I have had from my staff has been nothing short of amazing, with compliments to the bar staff for being friendly, helpful and very quick when serving at the bar. We recently booked Citation for two events – one a work party and the other an industry event.
The Citation team were great to work with and were very accommodating with our specific requests. The staff on the night were lovely – the perfect mix of friendly and professional.
Many of our guests commented on how nice the space was and the canapes were top notch!
Citation hosted an incredible social night for our conference attendees. Prior to the event Sophie and Claire thought of every detail that would enable the event to run smoothly. In the days leading up to the event and on the night the team went above and beyond to accommodate our last minute changes and needs. On the night the manager, bar staff and bouncers handled everything for us so all the organizers and the guests could relax even though we had a full-house of almost 600 people.
So many people came up to me on the night to compliment how great the venue was, so beautiful and with spaces to accommodate them no matter if they felt like a deep conversation in a quiet corner or jumping up and down on the dance floor! We really couldn’t have been happier!
What a fantastic venue for a team offsite. Impressive exterior, creative interior and super helpful staff on hand to help with any technical and catering needs.
